Abstract:
Modern high-accuracy light microscopes use the lighting system proposed by August Koehler which provides full and uniform lighting of studied objects. However, such lighting systems have large dimensions. In light of the global trend towards minimisation of instrument dimensions, this work consisted of reduction of the size of a Koehler type lighting system: calculations were made for light source and CCD selection; such components of the lighting system as collector and condenser were designed for minimum of spherical aberration; uniformity of illumination of a studied object was assessed.
